So, today’s kitchen expeariament was find a way to to use discard sourdough starter that does not include crumpets, scones, fritters, pikelets, pizza bases, flatbread or crackers. And I knew the oil in our rarely used deep fryer was getting to the stage where it really, really, needed changing. Which is something I put off because oil don’t come cheap.
So it was time to invent deep fried, cheesy, sourdough starter, crispy frybread balls. And waddayaknow, like every other evil thing you stuff in your piehole they are delish – even though you can feel your heart and veins whimpering.

And after cooking them, there was absolutely no debate about whether or not the oil needed replacing.
First I didn’t know you could deep fry in the air fryer and now I wish I hadn’t found out! They look absolutely scrumptious and I was salivating over the keyboard.I only have to look at things like that and I put on a kilo.UNFAIR.
Errrrm, deep fryer is being used for deep frying, not an air fryer. Different appliances, different jobs. Trying an air fryer full of boiling oil would probably lead to you reinventing napalm, and “Apocalypse Now”: ‘I love the smell of napalm in the morning.’
